We learned several lessons about fire last night. For example, it is in fact possible to construct a light source from a coffee cup, a tin can lid, a paper towel, and rubbing alcohol. However, it is not possible for this light source to burn brightly enough to light the inside of a jack-o-lantern.
We also learned that pouring the remainder of alcohol in a pan on the stove and setting it on fire is not the most expedient way to dispose of the alcohol. It is not the safest, either. Additionally, pushing the pan into the sink does not extinguish the fire; rather, it sets the sink on fire itself.
We had a very educational Tuesday night.
