My parents were good sports last night and went with me to see New Moon. We had planned on attending the Tuesday night showing, but it was sold out when we got there. We learned from our mistake and bought tickets ahead of time so that we could see it last night.
I expected the movie to be bad. The books, while completely addictive, are laughable, and the first film showed me that Robert Pattinson couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag and that Kristen Stewart, while adorable, is almost too awkward to watch.
That said, it was so bad it was awesome. If you’re going to see the movie, which, at this point, you almost have to, you have to see it in the theater. Even in Galesburg, the cinema was packed, and the audience (unsurprisingly comprised primarily of tween girls) couldn’t contain its hooting and hollering. Honestly, it was the most fun I’ve had at the movies in a long time.
